Commonly utilized for Generators, welding machines, Sump & Well Pumps.
Safe Design: Each wire fits into its individual tube and is secured to avert short circuits or stray strands. Clear terminal cover permits visual examination of conductors and terminations.
Easy to Utilize and Setup: The ergonomic fluted design with circular indent is perfect for gripping, rotating, and pulling. The alignment of the face and body simplifies assembly. The grip screws are positioned on the same side for easier tightening.
How to Install?
Loosen the assembly screws on the face and detach the device. If necessary, back off the cord clamp screws enough to let the cord fit between the two halves of the clamp. Pass the cord through the cord clamp and housing. If the cord diameter is between 0.391″ and 0.655″, simply remove the least amount of the cord clamp. Strip the cord jacket between 7/8” and 1” from the end of the cord. Remove insulation revealing between 3/8” and 1/2” of bare copper wire (refer to diagram 1a). Twist wire strands tightly together. Cut off any cord fillers, if present. Insert the exposed copper wire into the wire clamp and tighten each terminal screw to 10-12 in-lbs. of torque. Confirm insulation clears clamp; the HOT conductor connects to the BRASS terminal, NEUTRAL conductor to the SILVER terminal, and the GROUND conductor to the GREEN hex screw. Reassemble the wired device body with the housing. Align the keyed housing with a key on the device’s body. Tighten the assembly screws. Alternately, tighten the cord clamp screws to 10-12 in-lbs. of torque. Confirm the cord clamp is placed over the cord jacket, not over the conductors.
Note:
The built-in cord grip adjusts automatically for use with 18-12 AWG.
